The present report reflects on the years 2021 and 2022. During this period, IRIS Adlershof has strengthened its position in the areas of Hybrid systems as well as Space–Time–Matter. Moreover, the new research areas Big Data, Quantum Technology and Catalysis have been successfully established. It also gained ten new members during the reporting period.
IRIS Adlershof has enhanced its cooperations with the Institute of Physics of the CAS as well as with the Pritzker School of Molecular Engineering at the UChicago. Furthermore, our spatial and technical infrastructure has improved: About 2.500 m² of state-of-the-art laboratory space and 2.200 m² of office and common rooms are now additionally available. A special highlight was the festive opening, which attracted large public attention.
Within its regular evaluation in 2021, the review panel of international scientists recognized this success and recommended that Humboldt University should extend IRIS Adlershof for an additional third period of three more years.

The present report reflects on the years 2019 and 2020. During this period IRIS Adlershof has expanded its research areas into new directions, including Big Data, Quantum Technology and Catalysis. It has appointed two new members, Olaf Hohm and Tim Schröder.
Large collaborative projects such as the CRC 951 as well as BMBF and EU projects have been pursued, ERC-projects have been awarded and major meetings and conferences have been hosted. In addition to its long-term strategic partners in the US and Asia, IRIS Adlershof established a formal cooperation with the Institute of Physics of the CAS.
The IRIS research building was completed, with about 2,500 m² of state-of-the-art laboratory space.

The present report reflects on the years 2017 and 2018. During this period IRIS Adlershof has grown with five new members and an ERC funded Junior Research Group, and has efficiently established its position as an international leader in the research areas Hybrid Systems for Optics and Electronics and Space-Time-Matter. Moreover great progress was made in the promotion of young scientists and we are on the verge of the inauguration of our own research building.

The report reflects on the years 2015 and 2016. During this period IRIS Adlershof has grown with three new members and an Emmy Noether Junior Research Group. An evaluation of IRIS, performed by an external expert commission in June 2016 has explicitly confirmed the successful development of IRIS Adlershof since its inception. The reviewers concluded, that IRIS has succeeded to put the HU’s science campus, Berlin Adlershof on the international map of research in the fields of hybrid systems and mathematical physics.

The report reflects the years 2013 and 2014. It includes important national and european research projects, such as collaborative research centers, research training groups, and EU initial training networks, which have been successfully established. Particularly important for the long run, we have managed to raise federal and state funds for the construction of a research building for the IRIS research area "Hybrid Systems for Optics and Electronics".
